02.16.2012: The “Road Trip” Episode

The Kaijucast heads North!

The Kaijucast heads North! Don't worry, T'Igor wasn't really driving. But almost the entirety of this episode was recorded on a road trip to Seattle. Photo credit: Kyle Lang

In this episode (which is #51) of the Kaijucast, Jeff Dean and I record on the road to Seattle, Washington. Why go to the Emerald City? Basically, around Xmas-time when my parents visited I went to the Experience Music Project and SciFi Museum, and I definitely didn’t get enough time into the exhibits. It’s a fantastic museum and if you are in or around the Seattle area, make sure you check out the “Can’t Look Away” exhibit (if you like horror movies, that is). Since we were in the area, we also went to the Fremont Troll, Gasworks Park, Archie McPhee, and a comic shop called The Dreaming (owned and operated by a fan of Godzilla). We also got to check out David E. Dopko’s amazing Godzilla collection and have dinner with Nick “The Hat” Gucker and his lovely wife. There’s an album on the facebook page.

In addition to the road trip, I also took a few minutes to discuss the newest issue of Godzilla Legends with it’s writer, Chris Mowry. Not only was it a blast talking to him on the show, Chris drops the first bit of a bomb: IDW is already negotiating with Toho for more monsters… a LOT of them. Stay tuned for the full list as soon as the papers are signed, people!
