04.22.2013: Stumptown Bonus with Paul Guinan & Anina Bennett

STCF_Logo_texture_lo-resWhy is this a bonus episode? Well if you’ve listened to any of our episodes this year, you’re probably aware of all the different shows and conventions that we’ll be part of/going to. One of those events is the 10th Annual Stumptown Comics Festival held right here in Portland, Oregon. In association with our Stumptown broadcast that will be taking place during the show, we thought it would be a great idea to have on some local artists who are a big part of the show and just talk a bit about their creations and what attendees can expect at this year’s festival. Rather than just having these creators over to the Kaijucast HQ for a few minutes, I really wanted to showcase their work because I am a BIG fan of what they do…

Those artists just happened to be both Paul Guinan and Anina Bennet, creators of the amazing books Boilerplate: History’s Mechanical Marvel and Frank Reade: Adventures in the Age of Invention. They came over and sat down with Heather and myself for this bonus episode. We talk about the books, their next projects and (of course) the Stumptown Comics Fest!

If you are in the Portland area, we really hope that you can make it out to the festival – I’ve been attending for the past several years and it is one of the most unique comic shows I’ve ever attended and it just keeps getting better and better each year. But if you cannot be at the show, please tune into the Radio Stumptown broadcast during the festival!
