Martin, Bryan, Rachel, Dave and Kyle discussing Death Kappa… what could possibly go wrong?

There are two reasons why this is an explicit episode. The first is that Dave (who always loves being on the podcast) missed out on our last filter-less episode. The second is that our movie for this month…well, it just isn’t aimed at kids. I explain this a little bit at the beginning of the show, but I wanted to make sure this is the first thing the listeners see in the post. So our 140th episode explores the comedy/parody/whatever produced by Media Blasters, Death Kappa (2010). Apparently I am in the minority here, but this is a film I loathe and I was legitimately surprised that my co-hosts found it so entertaining. To each their own, I suppose.

I never imagined that we could discuss this film in such detail, but I have to admit that hearing my cohosts’ opinions has lessened my sour view of this movie by a tiny, tiny little bit. They likened it to parodies like the Naked Gun films… so, there’s that, I suppose. If you haven’t seen the film, I’d guess you kind of need to in order to get these maniacs are talking about. Big thanks to the listeners who sent in their homework on Death Kappa. You guys are real troopers (and not the kind that scream for their Mommies)!

Our next Daikaiju Discussion will look squarely in the robotic eyes of Kiryu! That’s because we’ll be watching Masaaki Tezuka’s second entry in the Big G Pantheon, Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla (2002) for May. If you’d like to send in your thoughts, questions and reviews of this film, make sure to submit your “homework” before May 22nd to be included in the discussion episode. This film is available on DVD, BluRay and on multiple online platforms.
